Issue 22 of The Pointer Index · Week ending 13 September 2026
We have collected Singapore GTM ads since July on the same feed and the same classifier as Australia. Eight weeks is enough to ask a question we could not ask before: when one company hires in both markets in the same week, what does it put in each ad?

Same company, different job
441 companies currently run GTM ads in both markets. AWS, Google, TikTok, Stripe, Mastercard, MongoDB. In Singapore those companies account for one tracked ad in three; in Australia, one in eight.
At those companies, 49.9% of Singapore sales ads are senior or above. In Australia it is 33.1%. The Australian ads cluster around mid-level account executives.

The Singapore feed selects on GTM job titles up front, so we re-ran the comparison with the identical title filter applied to Australia and duplicate postings collapsed; the gap lost less than a point. Scored company by company instead of pooling ads, so that AWS could not carry the result on volume: employers with several sales ads in both markets show a roughly 20-point company-weighted gap. Employers with only one or two ads a side show no clear pattern.
The remit in the ad
29.8% of Singapore GTM ads define the territory as Asia (APAC, ASEAN, a stated regional remit). The Australian figure is 9.8%. The gap appears in every function we track, on the raw feed and the corrected one.
It widens with seniority. 51% of Singapore's director-level ads are regional-scope. Singapore's entry-level ads carry regional language at about the rate of Australia's director-level ads.
Within a single employer: 72% of the dual-market companies use more regional language in their Singapore ads than in their own Australian ads.

An Australian AE who wants a regional remit will find that home barely advertises one.
Internships
Excluding trainee titles, entry-level ads are 10.7% of both markets. Include them and the two markets separate: 37% of Singapore's entry-level GTM ads are internships, against 7% in Australia. Mid-level ads are 60% of the Australian market and 46% of Singapore's.
Five weeks of feed data
Captured weekly GTM postings in Australia fell from 2,089 to 952 across the five shared weeks. Singapore went from 1,103 to 1,041. In the week of 7 September, Singapore produced nearly as many new GTM ads as Australia from a pool a sixth of the size. Five weeks is too short to call a trend, and some of the Australian fall is collection noise. October will settle it.
The numbers this week
The active ANZ pool closed at 6,678 GTM roles, with 4,809 opened and 4,867 closed. Median advertised base: $96,500, transparency 16.3%. Our collection pipeline had outages and a catch-up backfill this week. The backfill restored the current pool, but it makes this week's week-on-week comparison unusable.
Singapore's pool closed at 1,051 tracked GTM roles, 954 opened, 826 closed.

The number to watch: 72%. Most companies that hire in both markets already write a bigger job into their Singapore ads. We will check in October whether Australia's postings decline was real.
