    Business Development Manager - EdTech

Exciting Opportunity - Great Product - Big Growth Potential

    SalesSydneyHybrid

    Business Development Manager – NSW | $115K Base + Super + $175K OTE

    Sell something schools actually value.

If you’ve sold into complex organisations before, you already know this.
Deals don’t close because of flashy features.
They close because of trust, timing, and someone who knows how to navigate real decision-making.

That’s what this role is about.

This Australian scale-up builds technology that genuinely improves how schools operate. Less admin. Better communication. Stronger engagement with families. It’s already embedded in thousands of schools nationwide.

Operating from their Sydney or Melbourne Office.

You’ll work closely with leadership, run high-quality demos, and play a meaningful role in how this region scales. This is not a churn-and-burn sales gig. It’s a long-game territory role with real autonomy.

    Why this role?

    • $115K base + super + $175K OTE

    • Established product with serious market traction

    • Warm inbound demand, plus room to generate your own pipeline

    • Sydney or Melbourne based, with hybrid flexibility

    • Purpose-driven tech that schools genuinely want to use

    • Strong cross-functional support across product, marketing, onboarding and CS

    What you’ll actually do

    • Own and grow your territory, end to end

    • Convert inbound leads and create new opportunities through outbound activity

    • Run thoughtful virtual and in-person demos tailored to different stakeholders

    • Manage longer sales cycles with multiple decision-makers

    • Build and maintain a clean, well-forecasted pipeline

    • Partner closely with marketing, onboarding and customer success

    • Attend industry events, conferences and key school forums

    • Feed market insight back into leadership to influence go-to-market strategy

    What we’re looking for

    • A consultative seller who leads with curiosity, not pressure

    • Comfortable balancing inbound demand with proactive outbound

    • Strong demo and presentation skills

    • Experience navigating structured buying processes and longer sales cycles

    • Highly organised with disciplined CRM habits and follow-up

    • Sydney based

    • SaaS or platform sales experience preferred

    Bonus, not a requirement:

    • Exposure to education, government, or similarly complex sectors

    • Familiarity with school environments or K–12 operations

This role is not about “knowing education inside out” on day one. That can be learned. What matters is sales craft, credibility, and the ability to build trust.

    What success looks like

    • Consistently hitting and exceeding revenue targets

    • Becoming the known, trusted point of contact.

    • Building long-term relationships, not one-off wins

    • Seeing your customers actively succeed on the platform

    • Playing a strategic role in how the business expands nationally

    Why this opportunity stands out

You’re selling something that genuinely helps schools do their jobs better.
You’ll be trusted to run your patch like it’s your own.
You’ll work with smart, grounded people who care about outcomes, not ego.
And you’ll join at a point where growth is real, not hypothetical.

If you’re a strong BDM looking for a meaningful, high-impact role in Sydney, this is worth your attention.
