Is AI Coming for Your Marketing Jobs?

A raging debate happening in our GTM ANZ community at the moment is "do I need an expensive CRM?"

And being able to manage/use/have technical skills with CRM is the top-requested skill from the 1,000+ marketing jobs we saw in the Australian market in February 2026.

So who is "in the wrong" here?

I believe there’s a lag between what talent teams and marketing job advertisers are saying they need — and what skills will be needed over the next 12–24 months.

I also believe the NUMBER ONE technical skill you’ll need over this timeline is:

    "Figure-outerer"

A figure-outerer doesn’t have a deep specialisation in technical SEO, email marketing, or even conversion rate optimisation.

They understand how marketing works, are data literate, and can leverage tools in and out as the capabilities evolve towards an outcome — and repeatedly work their systems to get to that outcome again and again.

    I’m so bullish on this.

That’s why I’m running a workshop on Thursday called "Is AI Coming for Your Marketing Jobs?"

I’m going to share what the most commonly requested marketing skills are, and also share what can be currently replaced by AI TODAY.

    Not "when it’s ready".

    TODAY.
